Today's Beautiful Hadith is about Advice

Al-Hajjaj bin As-Sawwaf (RA) narrated from Abu Az-Zubair (RA), who said: "Jabir said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "O Ansar! Hold on to your wealth, and do not give it on the basis of 'Umra. For whoever gives something on the basis of 'Umra, it belongs to the one to whom he gave it on that basis, for the rest of his life and after he dies."'

(Sunan an-Nasa'i, Book 34, Hadith 18)

Short explanation below.

In this hadīth Umra does not mean the pilgrimage to Makkah

Umra here means giving a gift to someone for the duration of their life. Example you say to your brother I gift you my car for the duration of your life.

The Prophet PBUH is encouraging that once we give a gift it should be permanent not for a duration

Hope this helps 😊
