Hadith About Paradise

It was narrated from Abdullah bin Amr (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever claims to belong to someone other than his father will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, even though its fragrance may be detected from a distance of five hundred years.” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Book 20, Hadith 2709)

Hadith About Cleanliness

Narrated Aws ibn Aws ath-Thaqafi (RA): I heard the apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say: If anyone makes (his wife) wash and he washes himself on Friday, goes out early (for Friday prayer), attends the sermon from the beginning, walking, not riding, takes his seat near the imam, listens attentively, and does not indulge in idle talk, he will get the reward of a year's fasting and praying at night for every step he takes. (Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 1, Hadith 345)

Hadith About Responses

Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri (RA) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: ‘Allah will question His slave on the Day of Resurrection, until He says: “What kept you from denouncing evil when you saw it?” When Allah grants His slave a response, he will say: “O Lord, I hoped for Your mercy but I feared the people.” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Book 36, Hadith 92)

Hadith About Duty

Narrated Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The witr is a duty for every Muslim so if anyone wishes to observe it with five rak'ahs, he may do so; if anyone wishes to observe it with three, he may do so, and if anyone wishes to observe it with one, he may do so. (Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 8, Hadith 7)

Hadith About Witr

Narrated Al-Hasan ibn Ali (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) taught me some words that I say during the witr. (The version of Ibn Jawwas has: I say them in the supplication of the witr.) They were: "O Allah, guide me among those Thou hast guided, grant me security among those Thou hast granted security, take me into Thy charge among those Thou hast taken into Thy charge, bless me in what Thou hast given, guard me from the evil of what Thou hast decreed, for Thou dost decree, and nothing is decreed for Thee. He whom Thou befriendest is not humbled. Blessed and Exalted art Thou, our Lord." (Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 8, Hadith 10)

Hadith About Blessings

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: "Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, descends to the earth's heaven every night when the first third of the night has passed. He says: "I am the Sovereign. Is there any who calls upon Me so that I may respond to him? Is there any who asks of Me that I may give him? Is there any who seeks forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him?' He continues in that until the illumination of Al-Fajr." (Jami`at-Tirmidhi, Book 2, Hadith 299)

Hadith About Pride

Abu Huraira (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said that there was a person who used to walk with pride because of his thick hair and fine mantles. He was made to sink in the earth and he would go on sinking in the earth until the Last Hour would come. (Sahih Muslim, Book 37, Hadith 80)

Hadith About Freedom

Anas b. Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: It would be said to the non-believers on the Day of Resurrection: If you were to possess gold, filling the whole earth, would you like to secure your freedom by paying that? He would say: Yes. Thereupon it would be said to him: Something easier (than this) was demanded from you (but you paid no heed to it). (Sahih Muslim, Book 52, Hadith 39)

Hadith About Sacrifice

It was narrated that Abu ‘Ubaid (RA) said: “I was present for ‘Eid with ‘Umar bin Khattab. He started with the prayer before the sermon, and said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade fasting on these two days, the Day of Fitr and the Day of Adha. As for the Day of Fitr, it is the day when you break your fast, and on the Day of Adha you eat the meat of your sacrifices.’” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Book 7, Hadith 1793)

Hadith About Committing Theft

Aisha (RA) said, "A woman from Bani Makhzumiya committed a theft and the people said, 'Who can intercede with the Prophet (peace be upon him) for her?' So nobody dared speak to him (i.e. the Prophet) but Usama bin Zaid spoke to him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, 'If a reputable man amongst the children of Bani Israel committed a theft, they used to forgive him, but if a poor man committed a theft, they would cut his hand. But I would cut even the hand of Fatima (i.e. the daughter of the Prophet) if she committed a theft." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 5, Book 62, Hadith 81)

Hadith About Prayer

Anas b. Sirin (RA) reported: I heard Jundab b. Qasri (RA) saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: He who observed the morning prayer (in congregation), he is in fact under the protection of Allah and it never happens that Allah should make a demand in connection with the protection (that He guarantees and should not get it) for when he asks for anything in relation to His protection, he definitely secures it. He then throws him flatly in the Hell-fire. (Sahih Muslim, Book 5, Hadith 330)

Hadith About Following Others

Hudhaifah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do not let yourselves be 'yes-men', saying: 'If the people are good then we will be good, and if they are wrong then we will be wrong. 'Rather, make up your own minds, if the people are good then you are good, and if they are evil, then do not behave unjustly." (Jami`at-Tirmidhi, Vol. 4, Book 27, Hadith 113)

Hadith About Punishment

Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (RA) said: "O you people! You recite this Ayah: Take care of yourselves! If you follow the guidance no harm shall come to you. I indeed heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: 'When the people see the wrongdoer and they do not take him by the hand, then soon Allah shall envelope you in a punishment from him.'" (Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Vol. 4, Book 33, Hadith 11)

Hadith About Workers

'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (RA) was heard to say to a nephew of his who had left al-Waht, "Are your workers at work?" "I don't know," he replied. He said, "If you were clever, you would work as your workers work." Then he turned towards us and said, "When a man works with his workers in his house (and Abu 'Asim once said, 'in his property'), he is one of the workers of Allah Almighty." (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, Book 25, Hadith 7)  

Hadith About Guidance

Narrated Ibn Jarir bin 'Abdullah (RA): from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever starts a good tradition which is followed, then for him is a reward, and the likes of their rewards of whoever follows him, there being nothing diminished from their rewards. And whoever starts a bad tradition which is followed, then for him is the sin, and the likes of the sins of whoever follows him, there being nothing diminished from their sins." (Jami`at-Tirmidhi, Vol. 5, Book 41, Hadith 31)

Hadith About Safety

It was narrated from Salamah bin ‘Ubaidullah bin Mihsan Al-Ansari (RA) that his father said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘Whoever among you wakes up physically healthy, feeling safe and secure within himself, with food for the day, it is as if he acquired the whole world.’” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 5, Book 37, Hadith 4280) 

Hadith About Love

Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying: 'Allah loves so and so; O Gabriel, love him.' Gabriel would love him, and then Gabriel would make an announcement among the residents of the Heaven, 'Allah loves so-and-so, therefore, you should love him also.' So, all the residents of the Heavens would love him and then he is granted the pleasure of the people of the earth." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, Book 78, Hadith 70)

Hadith About Best People

'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi-Bakrah (RA) narrated from his father that a man said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Which of the people is the best?" He said: "He whose life is long and his deeds are good." He said: "Then which of the people is the worst?" He said: "He whose life is long and his deeds are bad." (Jami`at-Tirmidhi, Book 36, Hadith 27)
